Joss’s team produced the most fabulous meal for our son’s wedding at our home in France.
All the guests said it was like eating in a top restaurant and the beef wellington (v. English) was melt in your mouth!
Desserts were also incredible. The staff were attentive, efficient and super smiley!

We cannot say enough good things about our wedding venue Chateau De Lerse. From the moment we first arrived to view the wedding venue, we knew it was the one, the setting is beautiful the building and recent renovations are stunning, creating a perfect stage for our special day. But most importantly the place is filled with such a great feeling! We can't really describe it but from the moment you arrive you just feel at home and part of the chateau de Lerse family!

The food joss and his team prepared was outstanding. Each dish was so delicious, perfectly cooked and beautifully presented. All of our guests commented on how much they enjoyed the food, stating it was some of the best they have ever had! The bbq the next day was again delicious!... We're not even sure we would call it a bbq because it was so much more!

Joss, Chris and the rest of the team were exceptional. They were not only professional and efficient, but they also cared deeply about making our weekend perfect. We're pretty sure they didn't sleep for the whole 4 days!

We will always carry a huge piece of chateau de Lerse in our hearts and we can't wait to come and visit when we're next in the area!

Dear Chateau de Lerse,

My husband and I am writing following one of the most magical weekends of our lives.
On the weekend of the 29th April my husband and I celebrated our wedding weekend at the most tranquil and magical venue, Chateau de Lerse.
Our wedding journey started with Lerse about 1.5 years ago when we stumbled across the venue on social media.
The moment we clapped eyes on the venue we were straight onto email in communicating with the principals of Lerse, Joss and Estelle, in order to arrange our visit to see the venue in person. We received a very prompt response from both Joss and Estelle, and before we knew it, we were driving down the most idyllic forest drive to be met by the most wonderful chateau, which was then followed by such a warm and friendly welcome from Joss.
Joss kindly showed us around Lerse, providing ample detail and background about the venue and its offering, we were then shown to our room in order to settle in.
A further meeting took place with both Joss and Estelle to answer any outstanding questions that we had, and It’s fair to say that we knew immediately at that point, Lerse was the venue to celebrate our wedding weekend.
We visited Lerse on a couple of occasions following our booking and ahead of our wedding weekend, and on each occasion we were made to feel like royalty.
Joss, who is the most wonderful person was on-hand at all times and extremely hospitable. Joss is not only an expert in his field of hospitality, but he is also one of the most talented chefs we have come across…
Joss lives on site, however, spend most of his downtime in the kitchen at Lerse, creating magic. The food in which Joss created for us ahead of our wedding weekend was breath-taking, innovative, fresh, and to be frank, just utterly delicious.
As clients who are from Scotland, fresh and traditional produce is something we are used to, and it was so important to us that that our wedding guests were able to experience traditional French style cooking.
Joss is a real master in the kitchen, he listens to what his clients want, and makes suggestions in order to ensure that the menu for the wedding meal is unique, and something to remember.

Either side of the wedding day, Joss prepared delicious meals, from a fun pizza party, where there was an abundance of freshly baked pizzas on the Friday night.
To Sunday where we let our hair down by the pool and enjoyed a relaxed afternoon with our guests, debriefing on the wedding day, accompanied by another fabulous meal where Joss and his team prepared and served a wonderful BBQ with a table full of scrumptious sides.
The prefect way to feed a post wedding hangover!
There is no doubt that Joss and his team, Christine and Karine are a complete asset to Chateau de Lerse. It’s safe to say, they are some of the best people we have come across in the industry.
They really are what makes Lerse so special.

We also had the pleasure to work with Cris, who is the barman at Lerse. Just WOW. What an incredible guy Cris is, he’s professional, fun, and extremely talented.
Cris’s cocktails we diverse, flavoursome, and beautifully presented.
Cris was always on hand, and never did we find a scenario where our guests were without a drink, result! Cris you are a real asset to Lerse, all of our guest loved your company throughout the weekend, thank you again for making our wedding weekend so special and magical.

Separately, we received the good fortune to meet with the owner of Lerse, Mike.
It was great to meet with the owner, who was able to talk us through the history of Lerse and the works he has carried out at the property since purchasing.
Mikes eye for detail and attention to detail is second to none, we could not fault the venue and its grounds, and in our opinion, Lerse is completely perfect.

There are other members of the Lerse team that we must mention, from property maintenance staff to ground keeping staff to the minibus driver… all of which allow and make Lerse such a special place.
So, thank you.
There is no doubt that the dreaded wedding blues have set in… however, the memories that we have created at Lerse are here to stay… we cannot thank the team at Lerse enough, and in particular Joss and his wife, Karine.
You really are a wonderful pair!
Joss made a comment along the lines of, “at Lerse, everyone is happy”… and we can now confirm that he really wasn’t wrong.

Lerse really is the most magical place.

 If you’re thinking about booking Joss and team to feed your guests, do it! for those that have had the pleasure of trying Joss’ cooking, basically there’s not a single thing that comes out of his kitchen that you won’t love.
If you haven’t had the chance to try his food, don’t worry, just TRUST HIM – he knows what he’s doing – it will be the best food you could dream of for your wedding day.
We personally love asian cooking influences in our food and Joss catered for that, whilst also seamlessly catering for our vegan, gluten free and seafood allergen guests.
The food we ate was delicious and plentiful, we even had his team serve up some day-after-the-wedding stone baked pizzas and fresh salads etc. which was perfect for the heat wave over our wedding weekend.
Speaking of which, even in the 43 degree heat, Joss and team were INCREDIBLE people to just be around, remaining positive and happy despite the hot working conditions.
Nothing was too much trouble and having Traiteur Events at our wedding was one of the best decisions we made.

Simply put, Joss and his team are the best catering and events team available and I highly doubt there are many people of his calibre in the world let alone France.
He seems to be able to make even the largest scale event feel like an intimate family function and genuinely cares about you and all your guests and left us not just content that we had been served some of the best food in our lives, but we had left as friends.
Whilst his food was without question of the highest standards and we were able to leave him with the autonomy to cook what he felt was appropriate because everything we had tasted was of such quality, his skills and efforts were not just restricted to the kitchen.
Joss gently guided our entire weekend through each element seamlessly by getting to know all our contractors and the energy he gave off encouraged the very best out of them too.

Whilst Chateau de Lerse is without question beautiful and the perfect place to host any event, it would be nothing without the input of Joss, his wife and his team.
The chateau is a fantastic venue, but Joss makes it Lerse.

From the moment we drove down the long leafy driveway towards Chateau de Lerse in February 2020
we knew it was the venue we'd been searching for and when we finally got married in June 2022 our wedding exceeded all our expectations.
The venue is a fairytale castle tastefully renovated to compliment the castle's history but with modern comforts and chic decor.
Since our first visit the car park has been transformed into a stunning swimming pool, a further 4 bedrooms added to the main chateau and the old barn renovated into an events space and bar area.
What made Chateau de Lerse stand out compared to other venues wasn't just its beauty but the fact we were lucky enough to hire the entire property for 5 days and encouraged to treat it like our home.
Joss, Chris and the rest of the team went above and beyond to make us feel like our event was the event of the year, everything had been thoroughly thought through, with the utmost importance given to how we wanted the 5 days to run.
Someone was always on hand to serve drinks, answer questions or cooking in the kitchen where delicious smells emanated across the 5 days and had you salivating...
Which brings me to the food. Joss' menu was so unique, marrying tastes you would not necessarily expect deep in the heart of South West France.
Our wedding guests continuously commented on how exciting and moorish the food was.
So often at weddings there is a canape or a course that lets the menu down but everything from the hot workshops, the main course, the dessert platter and the stunning night cheese buffet that had been decorated like a forest was exquisite and not a plate was left unclean.
Even the pool party bbq the day after the wedding we had expected simple burgers but Joss had organised an array of intriguing salads and sides that made everyone keep going back for more.

We're already planning to go back for our 10 year anniversary!

The food was absolutely stunning: we lost count of the number of people who commented on it...
indeed the praise is still coming in!

The Château de Lerse is not a place, it is a universe. Surrounded by a natural setting, well away from everyday life, the estate is very welcoming and warm.
The Château de Lerse is a universe made up of a plurality of spaces and atmospheres. None of these spaces can be guessed, they are all to be discovered. The inner courtyard, the hidden bars, the swimming pool, the lounges, the clearing...
Throughout the stay, the scenes and atmospheres follow one another and are never alike. A weekend is not enough, we want to stay.
The Château de Lerse is a universe because it has a soul. Joss and Karine are the embodiment of this. The welcome they give you with their team is matched only by their kindness.
They will be able to accompany you in the preparation of your event with a lot of empathy and know-how.

We chose the Chateau de Lerse as a venue for our wedding this summer. We couldn't have been luckier to celebrate our special day at Chateau de Lerse.
The place is perfect: breathtaking views, very chic but also casual, making everyone comfortable!
To us, Lerse perfectly embodied the region (Charente), the french culture at its best and our love of the contryside. It is hard to explain but the place really has a soul.
We felt welcomed at all times, almost as if the place was ours...
Recent works (including a pool area, barn & glamping) were very tastefully carried out by the team at Lerse.

We got married in 2020, a complicated period because of the Covid, the changing regulations, the new restrictions, the difficulties in getting together...
The "Château de Lerse", represented by Joss and Karine, was able to support us and support us throughout long preparation and choices to be made, even if it was not easy.
Preparation is intense when you want to put some effort into it. Joss and Karine are professional and caring!
Thank you to them for having accompanied us to live this day as well as possible. This place is the most beautiful that we have seen in the region, a spacious outdoor shelter in case of rain, a room for a warm dinner, a magnificent garden, a lake...
The weather being uncertain, the cocktail happened under the shelter, it was good but we would have liked to enjoy the valley!
The caterer is managed by the place and the kitchen of Joss who knows the logistics perfectly and the material was very well organized. Nothing to say !
The cocktail and dinner were unrivaled, a treat, original, generous but rather light and healthy and we are gourmets!
Very nice experience at Château de Lerse, we will return there to savor the atmosphere of this wonderful weekend.

We decided to call on Joss and his team for cocktail workshops and our wedding dinner, and Joss was available quickly to discuss our expectations and wishes as a first step.
Great cocktail workshops and a menu, very original proposals, very creative taste associations, and great presentations. On the day the whole team was very professional for the installation of the bar, service and table dressing. Thanks to the whole team we were able to receive our guests serenely. Joss is not worthy of a great Chef, he is a great Chef.
A great chef of taste first of all. A creative and upscale cuisine, quality products, mixes of bold flavors (gambas with caramel spices, fine pies of scallops & hazelnut coriander vinaigrette, pan-fried foie gras, filet mignon of veal saltimbocca & juice with pinot, fillet of bar à l'unilatéral & vinaigrette citrus and ginger, tajine of vegetables ...), remarkable food-wine pairings around a format "dinner workshops" perfectly rhythmic. Joss dust off the traditional codes of wedding catering with talent! He even declined a concept videos "Do it yourself" for those who want to cook themselves, and simply their big events (www.cuisine-et-audace.com). Joss is also an exceptional conductor, who has sublimated our marriage thanks to his always very accurate advice and an impeccable organization, surrounded by his wife Karine, smiling and always very attentive, his charming butler Dirk for whom the unexpected always has a solution, and all his team of professionals in cooking and service. A team of enthusiasts, experiences, reassuring, irreproachable. Catering Events is the first and only caterer we had "tested" for our wedding. Received in this magnificent castle of Lerse in Charente, that Joss and his wife manage all the year, and which we fell immediately under the spell, we were immediately put in confidence. Our guests, all generations, repeat that they have never seen better caterer at a wedding. Joss and his team were, most certainly, the architects of the success of our marriage. We recommend them with their eyes closed. Thanks again, to the madness.

Very professional and attentive to our requests, Joss and his team sublimated our marriage. A selection of beautiful products as original as delicious that surprised all our guests.
The different entrees offered through the workshops were succulent, as was the rest of the menu. A meat dish as surprising as it was delicious and a selection of varied cheeses that delighted many.
Fresh products and worked with talent, we rarely eat as well and this opinion was unanimous among our guests!
